Community planning and the Localism Act

On Saturday 26th November, Martha James MRTPI helped organise a conference for CPRE and IWALC on the planning system post Localism Act. The event was attended by over one hundred people, including Andrew Turner MP, County Councillors, representatives of non-profit organisations and interested members of the public.

Training on the Localism Act

In the morning session Martha spoke about how to make effective comments on planning applications. In the afternoon Martha facilitated a workshop using a fictitious application for Bembridge Windmill as an example, which despite vocal objections received planning permission.

Throughout February CPRE and IWALC are organising a series of evening training events. Martha James will be speaking about the Localism Act, including neighbourhood planning. She will also be facilitating further workshops about how to make your voice heard in the planning system.
